Humane Society Naples, Southwest Florida’s premiere no-kill animal shelter and companion animal support organization, has an opening for a Donor Database Specialist on our Development & Marketing team.
The Donor Database Specialist is responsible for maintenance of Humane Society Naples’ donor database (Neon), including daily data entry, acknowledgement preparation and report creation, as well as other general development needs in the department. We are seeking a candidate who is extremely detail oriented, meticulous with records, and always looking to improve processes. Must be trustworthy and capable of handling sensitive financial information with the utmost care and discretion.
This position is hybrid remote. While the job duties may be completed at home, reporting to the Main Shelter location in Naples, Florida daily for a short time is required. Candidates must be located in or willing to commute daily to the Naples area.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Enter donor information and gift amounts accurately into the donor database
- Generate reports to identify donor trends, campaign results, and donor advancement and stewardship opportunities
- Generate reports of monies received
- Identify and remove or update duplicate or outdated donor information
- Manage and print daily acknowledgment letters
- Acknowledge, welcome, and steward new donors
- Update and personalize donor acknowledgement system as needed to align with specific fundraising efforts
- Develop a strong, positive, and respectful working relationship with staff, volunteers, and shelter companion animal residents
- Assist with other fundraising and development events and initiatives as requested
Qualifications:
- High school or GED required
- Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in a related field (e.g. computer or information science, business or public administration) preferred
- Minimum of one year of data entry or other database management experience required; 2 or more years strongly preferred
- Extremely strong accuracy and attention to detail
- Computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office programs
- Familiarity with donor database software and the ability to learn new software; experience with Neon preferred
- Creative thinking skills
- Ability to solve problems independently and proactively
- English fluency required; Spanish and/or Haitian Creole writing or speaking skills in addition to English preferred
Physical Requirements:
- The ability to hear or read lips with or without assistive devices
- The ability to speak with or without assistive devices
- Ability to come into brief contact with dogs, cats, and other small companion animals
- Personnel in this position can expect to sit or stand for long periods of time, and engage in occasional moderate physical labor, including but not limited to bending, stooping, crouching, pushing, pulling, and lifting
Schedule: This is a full-time position, M - F, 40 hours per week. Approximately 1-2 hours daily on site at our office in Naples, FL, with the remainder of duties conducted remotely. Occasional weekend or evening work may be required.
